If you are reading this post you are either an LJ friend who wonders why I'm suddenly posting here again, or an ff.net reader who was directed here by the story of the same name.

As promised in the story Framing Blue Eyes here are a couple of pictures of Cecil the Paladin Edger, and two links to the Silhouette frame I would fit Seto Kaiba in if he were a patient in the optometric practice where I work in real life. And if he were, y'know, real.

*grin*

My lab, in all its glory. The small unit to the left of the lamp is the blocker/layout portion of the edger, and to the right is the edger itself. This edger, made by a company called Santinelli, is so much easier to use, giving me beautifully precise results (especially when compared to the defective, older edger it replaced) that I simply had to name it.

And a close up of the picture I found on Deviant Art and decided to use on the edger itself. Here's a link to the artist's page. Kurasato was thrilled when I wrote and explained the unique use I found for the artwork.

The frame I would have fit Seto Kaiba in is by a company called Silhouette. They are not the first company to make completely rimless frames (where the frame is attached to the lenses, usually after the lenses have had holes drilled into them or notches worked into the edge) but they are arguably the best. They either pioneered, or perfected, the compression mounting system where a small sacrificial bit of precisely engineered plastic is used to attach the frame to the lenses. So, one is able to select a chassis, which consists of the bridge (or the part that goes over the nose) and the temples (the side pieces that go alongside the head and behind the ears) and use any lens shape one wishes. This is why there are two links below.

(Please be patient, Silhouette's webpage takes a moment to load. If you wait for them pages to load, you can place your cursor above the frame, click and hold your mouse button, and 'drag' the image around to view it from different angles.)

The first one shows the chassis I would select for Seto. It is a Titan Next Generation III frame in a color called Starlight Blue.

The shape I would use for Dragonboy is the 7621, which was released along with the Colorama line, so it's shown on a different frame.

So, I took the time to think about what lens shape and frame color would suit a fictional character best. An animated fictional character at that. Then I wrote a fanfiction about it. And, made this entry to share the depth of the idiocy with everybody. Does that make me an insane (though highly reluctant -- in this case -- given who the character is) fangirl, or an obsessive optician? I suspect it's probably a bit of both...

Perhaps, now that this is posted and off my mind, Dragonboy would be so kind as to permit me to focus on completing the next chapter of The Remedy.
